Many people are concerned that if they focus more on their personal brand instead of their business brands (products, services, offerings), that they are not building something that can scale.
But for those in service-based industries like business or life coaching, building a personal brand is an especially potent way to increase your authority, drive new leads and followers, and demonstrate your ability to help them get to whatever goals you’re coaching them to.
The more you demonstrate your value, the more likely they are to hire or buy from you. And they’ll see you as an authority on that subject or solution, and trust your brand by opening their wallets.
To build a personal brand that drives value to your business brand, you’ll want to consider the 4 elements to building one that gets seen, heard and paid.

Build your brand and your business, with all of
the fun and none of the fluff.
It’s a hard truth, but when it comes to selling, one thing I’ve learned is:
People don’t care about your products until you make them care about your products.
Dale Carnegie coined the “know, like and trust factor” and any thought leader who teaches and/or writes about being more effective in sales talks about how relationships are the key to big sales. Those who understand this as they build their brand will have an advantage, especially when they are first starting out.
Why? Because when it comes to sales, the “know, like and trust factor” is 100% in play.

When you think of businesses that are making huge impact, you’re really thinking of the brand.
Any business that sells things can do well, but those that create feelings and emotions become imprinted in people’s minds, and opens up more visibility and sales than traditional means of growing your business.
For example, when you think of Starbucks, they sell coffee.
They started out as a small, independently owned coffee joint in Seattle. The person that owned it was a solopreneur. He was running a business.
But the minute that Starbucks evolved into creating an experience of connection, community and collaboration – over coffee – not only did they help us justify spending $5+ (on a product that costs them pennies to make), it made it a place for people to feel like they belonged.

Happy Holidays!
The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of traveling, speaking on stages, and now Momentum ‘18, which I know many of you are playing!
As I sat down to write this blog, I started to think about all of the topics I could teach you.
In my 18+ years in this industry, I’ve learned a lot. And if there’s one thing you all know about me, it’s that I like to give away my best stuff for free. (What can I say? I take after my grandmother in my Jenerosity.)
So I made a quick list of all the things I could possibly teach (hint: this is a #protip you can use yourself when you’re creating your own blog content).
The topics on my list included: marketing, branding, sales, operations, how to lead a team, how to hire a team, how much money you can expect to make in year one, what digital marketing looks like, how to create sales funnels, leadership must-haves…and the list goes on.
While I actually plan to teach on all of this and more in 2018, I wanted to hone in on a daily ritual that has now changed everything for me.

As an entrepreneur, you either go in all the way or none at all. We’re nearing some very important holidays, and it can be easy to ‘forget’ about your biz when you’re getting the house ready for the relatives that are coming over or vice versa. While it is definitely important to spend some time […]

In over the 18+ years I’ve been helping people get seen, heard, and paid, I gotta say, dentists are by far some of the best marketers in the world. Believe me, it’s not because I know a few of them personally. 😉 Ever since I was little, my mom was one of those moms that […]
