How to Navigate the Cost of Doing Business Like a Pro

How to Navigate the Cost of Doing Business Like a Pro

It’s a dilemma I see often.

In the process of bootstrapping capital as an emerging entrepreneur, people immerse themselves in the idea that everything should be free. I’ve been in this for a long time, and I say this with all humility (not just because I’m a marketer):

You have to invest in your businesses.
And not just in your programs, but the marketing of it.

Real stuff that happens when you’re building a business, when you’re starting to pay for advertising, or you’re upleveling your community and your coach. To make money you have to spend money – that’s not B.S.

See, if you’re starting a business or you’re building a business and you’re trying to go the cheap route, you can only go so far with “free”. There is a point where you will need intentional guidance, an entire system that’s put together to follow from A-Z. If you don’t, you can still get there, but it will take you longer.

There are people out there who download a million free things (and I’m not against that at all –  in fact, I am quite proud of the stuff I offer for free because it really is good content) but if they’re not implementing strategically, it’s actually costing them.

Another good question to ask is, “Am I wasting my time compiling resources instead of being resourceful?”

Even if you spend all the money in the world, if you don’t take strategic action, nothing’s going to happen. You can buy Facebook ads, invest in Leadpages, have an autoresponder, Ontraport, Infusionsoft, Mail Chimp, whatever system you want to use. But if you’re not doing the work, it’s not gonna work.

The brands that get known, have notoriety, and are irresistible with sexy results are the brands who do the work and pay it upfront.

Why am I sharing all this? Not to scare you, but because it’s real and I want you to know you don’t have to be afraid of it. I say it because your brand deserves for you to take that action now. (In fact, if you haven’t joined the Paid To Be You Posse yet, I actually share an actionable prompt daily to help you do just that.)

Love this piece, I have been guilty of being a “content collector” and storing inside my research files which now need to be purged. This year, I had to drill down and select a handful of leaders to influence or pour into my spirit for soul growth. THANKS Jen !
